Nigerian cyclist and adventurer, Myam Emmanuel Aondoungwa, popularly known as Emmiwuks has announced his return to Nigeria, placing his widely followed bicycle journey to the United States on temporary hold. The announcement was made through a statement shared with his followers on Monday, in which he explained that the decision came after his arrival in Mauritania.
According to him, the pause became necessary to attend to several pressing personal matters that could not be postponed. He disclosed that the issues include challenges related to documentation, the need for medical treatment, upcoming visa interviews, and other essential requirements needed to continue the journey. These circumstances, he said, made it impossible to proceed as planned at this time.
Emmiwuks also addressed his recent absence from public updates, noting that he went quiet for nearly seven days due to difficulties faced behind the scenes. He described the period as demanding but added that progress has since been made in resolving the issues.
Confirming his current movement, the cyclist said he is on his way back to Nigeria to receive medical care and complete his visa processes. He assured supporters that the suspension of the trip does not signal an end to the journey but rather a necessary break to put things in order.
He expressed appreciation to supporters who checked on him, prayed for him, and continued to show encouragement during his silence, reaffirming his determination to continue the journey once all outstanding matters are resolved.
