The Secretary to the Government of Niger State (SSG), Alhaji Abubakar Usman, has reaffirmed the commitment of the Niger State Government to strengthening collaboration with security and law enforcement agencies in order to ensure peace, security, and effective administration across the state.
The SSG made this known while receiving the Controller of the Nigeria Correctional Service, Niger State Command, CC Ogunleye Seyi Oladipupo, during a courtesy visit to his office on Tuesday.
Alhaji Abubakar Usman described the role of the Nigeria Correctional Service as vital to the nation’s criminal justice system, especially in the areas of rehabilitation, reformation, and reintegration of inmates into society. He commended the Command for maintaining professionalism and ensuring security within correctional facilities across Niger State.
He further assured the Controller of the continued support and cooperation of the Niger State Government in addressing challenges facing the Service, emphasizing that synergy among relevant institutions remains key to achieving lasting peace and social stability.
Earlier, the Controller of the Nigeria Correctional Service, Niger State Command, CC Ogunleye Seyi Oladipupo, said the visit was aimed at strengthening the existing working relationship between the Command and the Niger State Government.
He appreciated the support extended to the Service by the state government and pledged the Command’s continued commitment to effective service delivery, security, and ongoing reforms within the correctional system.
The meeting also provided an avenue for discussions on areas of mutual interest geared towards enhancing security and correctional administration in Niger State.
