The Electoral Committee of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the Senate and House of Representatives primaries in Plateau State has announced the winners of the party primaries conducted across the state.
Addressing party stakeholders and journalists at the APC secretariat in Jos on Tuesday night, the Chairman of the Committee, Hon. Stella Okete, said the exercise was conducted freely, fairly, peacefully, and in accordance with the party’s guidelines.
Hon. Okete announced the successful House of Representatives aspirants as follows: Hon. Beni Lar-Langtang, North/Langtang South Federal Constituency; Rt. Hon. Yusuf Adamu Gagdi, Pankshin/Kanke/Kanam Federal Constituency; Jeo Dashe, Mikang/Shendam/Qua’an Pan Federal Constituency
Others include: Hon. Musa Dachung Bagos, Jos South/Jos East Federal Constituency, Hon. Abubakar Sadiq Plaza-Jos, North/Bassa Federal Constituency; Hon. Ishaya Lalu-Mangu/Bokkos Federal Constituency and Rt. Hon. Idris Maje, Wase Federal Constituency
Following the announcement of the results, four incumbent members of the House of Representatives lost their re-election bids in the APC primaries.
The committee also announced the winners of the three senatorial districts in Plateau State. They include Sen. Simon Mwadkwon for Plateau North Senatorial District; Mr. Bitrus Bako Barji for Plateau Central Senatorial District, and Barr. Simon Bako Lalong for Plateau South Senatorial District.
With the outcome of the primaries, two incumbent senators from the state, Sen. Diket Plang and Sen. Pam Dachung lost their bids for re-election ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Meanwhile, there was a heavy security presence at the APC secretariat in Jos, although supporters of the victorious aspirants were seen celebrating the outcome of the primaries.
