The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in Nasarawa State, Dr. Emmanuel Ombugadu, has promised to make security and infrastructural development the key focus of his administration if victorious in the 2027 elections.

He made this commitment recently in Awe Local Government Area during the launch of the PDP’s local government election campaign tour.

Ombugadu said the safety of his people would be his top concern, emphasizing that the agrarian population of Nasarawa must be empowered to cultivate their farms and go about their daily lives without fear.

The Governorship candidate also promised to stimulate economic growth and enhance connectivity promising extensive road projects, specifically highlighting plans to construct routes linking Akiri to Plateau State.

He further outlined a vision to establish direct road networks connecting Benue, Awe, Taraba, and Plateau states to foster unity and interstate commerce, alongside rural access roads like the Wuse–Taraba corridor.

Additionally, the candidate pledged to harness local tourism to boost state revenue, detailing plans to upgrade the Awe Hot Springs and the Hunkuyi Fishing Festival to benefit host communities. He reassured residents that all policy frameworks proposed in 2019, 2023, and leading into 2027 would be faithfully executed.

Speaking at the event, Nasarawa PDP Chairman, Dr. Daniel Gimba, described the flag-off as the start of a movement away from hardship, expressing optimism that the party would secure a resounding victory in a fair contest.

Former Director-General of the National Orientation Agency and current PDP senatorial candidate for Nasarawa South, Dr. Mike Omeri, expressed gratitude to supporters and voiced confidence in the party’s electoral prospects.
