Mr. Lawrence Ikpe, President of the Omi-nyi Igede Social and Cultural Association, Jalingo branch, on Sunday celebrated his 50th birthday in a meaningful way as he visited the United Methodist Church of Nigeria Orphanage (UMCN) in Mile 6, Jalingo, Taraba State, to share blessings and encouragement with the children.
In a heartfelt gesture, Mr. Ikpe expressed deep gratitude to God for His multifaceted blessings, protection, promotion, and provision. “I chose to celebrate my golden years with these orphans to share with them and encourage them about life’s situations and challenges,” he said. He advised the children to continue building trust in God, who is a father to the fatherless and a mother to the motherless.
The celebration was filled with joy as Mr. Ikpe made donations of assorted items and a token of cash to support the orphanage. He was accompanied by his lovely wife, Mrs. Joy Ikpe, a sister, and children.
The UMCN Orphanage Coordinator, Shehu Bametu, represented by Mr. Joel Jallam, a deputy class teacher, conveyed management’s deep appreciation for Mr. Ikpe’s kindness and concern for vulnerable children.
The highlight of the visit was the presentation of birthday gifts to the orphans, followed by a special prayer for Mr. Ikpe and his family.
