Benue State Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Welfare, Hon. Theresa Odachi Ikwue has called on party stakeholders in Okpokwu Local Government Area to embrace unity, peace, and courage in strengthening the party. She made the call on Friday, during a stakeholders’ engagement at Ichama Council Ward, Okpokwu LGA, Benue State.
The Commissioner urged party members to shun distractions capable of disrupting harmony and collective progress. She expressed concern over the low participation in the ongoing APC e-registration exercise and encouraged registration agents to adopt more effective strategies to reach the people, noting that it is vital for the progress of the party
In a statement on Saturday, Ochanya Okoh, Assistant Information Officer of the Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Welfare, said, Hon. Ikwue expressed her appreciation to Hon. Simon Ali for his financial support of the registration exercise. She also announced additional financial assistance and the distribution of registration devices to trained agents.
The Commissioner thanked the Executive Governor of Benue State, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia, for sponsoring the training of the agents and reaffirmed Okpokwu LGA’s commitment to supporting the party.
In his remarks, the APC Chairman, Okpokwu Local Government, Hon. Inalegwu Abba, described Hon. Ikwue’s appointment as a major boost to the local government and pledged the party’s continued support to the governor and the commissioner.
