The Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Disu, has ordered the deployment of 14 units drawn from 16 Police Mobile Force (PMF) Squadrons, alongside 250 personnel from specialized tactical teams, to reinforce the Benue State Police Command ahead of the 2026 Easter celebration commencing tomorrow, April 5, 2026.
The Commissioner of Police, Emenari, stated that the strategic deployment aims to strengthen ongoing security operations and ensure the protection of lives and property across the state during the festive period. He added that the deployed personnel have been integrated with the state command’s tactical teams and other security agencies, focusing on dominating the hinterlands, vulnerable communities, and key public spaces.
Emenari commended the Inspector-General of Police for the timely reinforcement and reassured residents of the Command’s readiness to maintain law and order before, during, and after the Easter festivities. He urged citizens to remain vigilant, law-abiding, and cooperate with security agencies by providing timely and useful information.
