The Nasarawa State Government has concluded plans to hold a solidarity rally in support of President Bola Tinubu and Governor Abdullahi Sule on 12 February, 2026.
The Secretary to the Government of Nasarawa State, Dr Labaran Magaji made this known at a press conference held in Lafia on Tuesday.
He said the solidarity rally aims to express appreciation for the efforts these leaders are making towards delivering democratic dividends to the state.
Dr Magaji, who is also the State Coordinator of the Renewed Hope Agenda, said, “I want to assure you that Iam not taking that relationship for granted, and even your ability to honour us, to lead to this education, is something that I will never take for granted too.
“First, as you are all aware, the purpose of this meeting, you may have thought, through the grapevine, that there is going to be a rally. But I didn’t want to make it a rumour because you are most critical in whatever we do, and you are the reflection of what we are going to do and what we are about to do,” he said.
The SSG highlighted the achievements of President Tinubu and Governor Sule, including the removal of oil subsidies, introduction of social interventions, and infrastructure development across various sectors.
He noted that the rally would be a platform for citizens to express their appreciation for these efforts.
“The fact that all of us cannot have access to either the State House or the Government House, that is a way we will express our appreciation in solidarity with what they are doing,” he said.
The SSG explained that the rally which is expected to draw thousands of participants, will feature the inauguration of Local Government Coordinators for the Renewed Hope Agenda and the defection of some eminent personalities to the ruling party.
He said ,the National Chairman of the All Progressives Party (APC ), Professor Nentawe Yilwatda is also expected to attend the event emphasising however that the rally was not a political campaign but a show of appreciation for the leaders’ good work.
“The most important part of the event is to express our appreciation to Mr. President and encourage him to continue the good work he is doing, and to also appreciate our Governor for the prudent management of the resources available in the States,” he said.
Dr Magaji assured that security measures had been put in place to ensure a hitch-free event, with consultations held with relevant stakeholders, including security agencies.
He urged journalists to be part of the event, describing them as “partners” in the state’s development.
On his part, the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon Aminu Muazu‑Maifata, said thousands of grassroots stakeholders from across the State will converge for the mega rally in support of President Bola Tinubu and Governor Abdullahi Sule.
He said the event is being driven by local government chairmen, ward administrators and community leaders who have expressed their willingness to attend this mega rally, having the most beneficence of this administration both at the federal, state and the local level.
The Commissioner added that participants from all 147 wards of the state will travel in organized convoys, with contributions coming directly from residents rather than from government coffers.
“It is not a state‑funded, local government‑funded event, but contributions from the people right from the grassroots to the state level,” he explained.
