The Technical Adviser of Sokoto United FC of Sokoto, Peter Ejugwu Ajeni has disclosed that their Match Day 10 cracker against Doma United FC of Gombe in the 2025/26 NNL on Saturday, in Sokoto, is very crucial to them to climb a little bit up the League ladder and they will fight harder to secure a win.
Coach Ejugwu Ajeni made the disclosure to The VoiceSports in a telephone conversation on Friday. He said, “we are putting our strategies together to see that we do what is expected of us in order to get the three points because we really need the match, to climb a little bit up the table this Weekend”.
The Technical Adviser who informed that the Sokoto United FC was occupying the bottom of the League table and as they are playing against the team that was on top of the League table, it would be a tough game. He stressed that, “going by the nature of the game which for us is to survive relegation and for Doma United is to push out to gain promotion, it is going to be a keenly contested game and we must fight harder to win the match”.
He stated that, “I have beckoned on my players not to be in any form of pressure because we need our heads to be very calm, to play the match very well since it is a game that is much needed for us to come up with the three points that we are looking for and as the expectations are very high from everybody too”.
Coach Ejugwu Ajeni while assuring the fans and supporters that all hopes are not lost, explained that, “we have five matches to the end of the NNL and we are playing three at home and two away but our focus for now is on the Doma United match which we need your support and are believing that by the grace of God, we are going to pick all the three points that we are looking for in the match and after which we will unlock what is ahead of us”.
The Benue born gaffer confessed that the Sokoto based NNL side’s goal conversion rate was very poor but they have already worked on it and they were able to pull an away goal, saying they are only praying to God to help them to convert the chances that they would create in the Saturday’s match against Doma United FC, and he appealed to all the teeming supporters and fans of the club to throw their weight behind the team. He said, “the boys are doing very well and are also trying their best and I am proud of them. I am appealing to all of you to remain calm and give the players all the total support that they need, to pull out of the relegation zone”.
