The recently declared preferred successor to Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State, Senator Ahmed Aliyu Wadada has unveiled his agenda for the State if elected in 2027.
Wadada unveiled his agenda after a strategic meeting on April 16, where Governor Sule publicly announced his preference to political appointees, followed by a consultative visit to President Bola Tinubu at the Presidential Villa.
At a Press Conference held at the Nigeria Union of Journalists ( NUJ) Press Centre in Lafia on Sunday, Senator Wadada described the endorsement as a call to higher service and a mandate to preserve the developmental trajectory of the State.
He noted that his candidacy was not a personal pursuit but to serve as a bridge between the past achievements and future potentials of Nasarawa govt State.
“This vision is not about starting anew; it is about finishing strong and scaling impact”.
“It builds on the institutional foundations laid by Senator Abdullahi Adamu, the agricultural revitalisation of Governor Aliyu Akwe Doma, the urban renewal of Governor Umar Tanko Al-Makura, and the industrial transformation advanced by Governor Abdullahi Sule”, he said.
Speaking on his agenda christened: ” HEARTS Agenda”, Senator Wadada who represents Nasarawa West Senatorial District, said the blueprint is a six-pillar governance framework designed to drive inclusive growth.
He explained that the HEARTS Agenda represents, human capital development,energy and mineral resources, Agriculture and Green Economy.
According to Wadada, the agenda also includes rural and urban renewal, trade and investment as well as security.
He emphasised that his administration would explore Nasarawa’s strategic proximity to the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), treating it as a primary “growth and investment corridor”, to create jobs and expand infrastructure.
Senator Wadada reaffirmed his commitment to the advancement of women, describing them as the foundation of human development and the primary educators of society.
The lawmaker maintained that his personal and professional respect for women is rooted in the fundamental role they play in shaping every individual from birth.
He explained that within the framework of the HEARTS Agenda, women are categorised alongside education, health, and youth as vital pillars for progress.
The Senator noted that the development of a nation is intrinsically linked to the empowerment of its female population, suggesting that the enlightenment of a woman translates directly to the enlightenment of the entire country.
He, therefore called on his fellow aspirants to eschew disunity and embrace party unity , praising their conduct and shared commitment to the state.
“I call on all stakeholders, party leaders, aspirants, supporters, and citizens, to come together in unity.We must move forward not as individuals or factions, but as one Nasarawa, committed to stability, progress, and shared prosperity”, the aspirant stated.
