Nasarawa State Governor, Abdullahi Sule, has secured the All Progressives Congress (APC) Senatorial ticket for Nasarawa North with a landslide victory in the party’s primary election.
Governor Sule, in the primary election held on Monday, polled 47,393 votes to defeat his sole opponent, Silas Ali Agara, the immediate past Director-General of the National Directorate of Employment (NDE), who secured 2,915 votes.
The final tally left the governor with a commanding margin of over 44,000 votes.
The Chairman of the Senatorial Primary Election Committee and Returning Officer, Musa Shuaibu Guri, officially declared the Governor as the winner at the VIP Lodge in Akwanga, the zonal headquarters.
Guri described the electoral process as peaceful, transparent, and credible.
”Audu Alhaji Sule got a total vote of 47,393, while the second aspirant, Silas Ali Agara, got a total vote of 2,915,” Guri announced before party officials and journalists.
He confirmed that Governor Sule had met all constitutional requirements and guidelines of the APC to emerge as the official flagbearer for Nasarawa North.
