The Nasarawa State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has assured of a transparent and equitable primary for all contestants.
At a Press Conference in Lafia on Monday, the State Chairman, Dr. Aliyu Bello told aspirants that the party would uphold internal democracy and strictly follow established guidelines to ensure no candidate is unfairly treated.
Bello emphasised that candidates would be allowed to test their popularity through a framework designed to be free, fair, and credible explaining that the primaries will strictly adhere to the Electoral Act, the APC constitution and 2026 guidelines.
He urged party members to maintain maturity and decorum, stating that politics should serve as a unifying platform rather than divisive.
“Politics should not be a source of division, but rather a platform for strengthening our shared vision and collective aspirations.
” As we move forward, we encourage continuous dialogue, mutual respect, and strict adherence to party guidelines,” Bello said.
He commended President Bola Tinubu’s administration for implementing far-reaching developmental programmes and reforms aimed at stabilising the economy, improving infrastructure and enhancing national security.
“In recognition of these laudable achievements and his unwavering commitment to the progress of Nigeria, we hereby endorse His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for a second term in office come 2027, to enable him consolidate on the gains already recorded,” Bello declared.
The party also passed a vote of confidence on Gov. Abdullahi Sule for his purposeful leadership, foresight and unwavering commitment to the unity, stability and development of Nasarawa State.
“Under his stewardship, the State has witnessed remarkable strides in infrastructure development, economic expansion, investment drive, and improved governance standards.
“His leadership has not only strengthened our Party but has also inspired confidence among the people,” he said.
The Chairman while answering a question on the “preferred” gubernatorial aspirant, said the choice was not arbitrary.
He described the selection as a result of extensive consultations aimed at ensuring stability and protecting the collective interests of both the party and the state.
He concluded by encouraging a culture of continuous dialogue and mutual respect as the election cycle intensifies.
