Benue Deputy Governor felicitates Nigerians on 66th Independence Anniversary

Benue State Deputy Governor, Dr. Sam Ode, has felicitated with the people of Benue and Nigerians at home and in the diaspora on the occasion of the 66th Independence Anniversary of Nigeria.

In a goodwill message issued on Thursday in Makurdi through his Press Secretary, Ior Ikyereve, Dr. Ode described the anniversary as a significant moment for Nigerians to reflect on the nation’s journey since independence, celebrate its resilience and diversity, and renew collective commitment to building a peaceful, united and prosperous country.

The Deputy Governor commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the courage and determination demonstrated in implementing reforms aimed at repositioning the economy and laying a stronger foundation for sustainable development.

He expressed confidence that sustained investment in infrastructure, human capital, productive enterprise and social protection would strengthen the foundation for inclusive and enduring national prosperity.

Dr. Ode also applauded Governor Hyacinth Iormem Alia for his commitment to transforming Benue through investments in road infrastructure, healthcare, education, agriculture, human capital development and institutional reforms.

He noted that the administration’s efforts to improve public infrastructure, strengthen basic services, support farmers and stimulate economic activities across the state were consistent with its vision of building a more productive, secure and economically vibrant state, while complementing the Federal Government’s broader development agenda.

The Deputy Governor called on Nigerians, irrespective of ethnic, religious, political or regional affiliations, to uphold the values of patriotism, unity, tolerance, peaceful coexistence and responsible citizenship, stressing that nation-building requires the collective contribution of government, the private sector, civil society and citizens.

He urged the people of Benue to remain supportive of government efforts at all levels and prayed for continued peace, stability, prosperity and unity in Benue State and Nigeria at large.
