Benue State Governor, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia, has approved the appointment of Dr. Anya Godwin Ngbajime as a Member of the Benue State House of Assembly Service Commission, subject to confirmation by the State House of Assembly.
The appointment, announced Monday, by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Sir Tersoo Kula, fills the vacancy created by the removal of the former member, Mrs. Dorcas Faeren Mbatiav.
According to the statement, the appointment aligns with Governor Alia’s commitment to strengthening governance by appointing competent and experienced individuals into key public institutions.
Dr. Ngbajime is described as a core unionist, seasoned administrator and accomplished public servant with a distinguished record of service.
He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Technical Education, a Master’s Degree in Educational Administration and Planning, and a Doctor of Philosophy, Ph.D., in Educational Administration.
He began his career with the Local Government Teaching Service Commission before joining the Benue State Civil Service, where he rose through the ranks. He was later elected Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Teachers, NUT.
Dr. Ngbajime served two terms as Benue State Chairman of the NUT and two terms as State Chairman of the Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC.
Governor Alia expressed confidence that Dr. Ngbajime’s wealth of experience, integrity and leadership qualities would contribute significantly to enhancing the effectiveness and performance of the Assembly Service Commission.
In line with due process, the Governor has forwarded Dr. Ngbajime’s name to the Benue State House of Assembly for confirmation.
Dr. Ngbajime hails from Mbaivende in Ushongo Local Government Area of Benue State.
