The Benue State Police Command has arrested ten suspects in connection with the killing of the Chairman of Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria, MACBAN, Benue State Chapter, Alhaji Ardo Risku Mohammed, and one Yakubu Isa.
According to a press release signed by the Police Public Relations Officer, Benue State Command, DSP Udeme Edet on Saturday, the arrests followed intensive intelligence gathering and tactical operations carried out by the Command.
DSP Udeme Edet revealed that, “Ten (10) suspects have so far been arrested in connection with the incident. The suspects were arrested on the night of June 27, 2026, during a coordinated operation by tactical teams in the Otukpo area of the state.”
The suspects arrested include Titus Thyodenda, 25; Utibe Sam, 20; Owoicho Ameh, 18; Sunday Useni, 21; Sunday Ogbanje, 46; Daniel Raphael, 23; Adokole John, 24; Samuel Ogazi, 32; Agbo Daniel, 25; and Onazi James, 30.
The Commissioner of Police, Benue State Command, CP Cletus C. N. Nwadiogbu, commended the tactical teams and investigators for their swift response and professionalism in effecting the arrests.
He assured members of the public that investigations are ongoing and that efforts have been intensified to identify and apprehend other persons connected with the crime. He reiterated that the Command remains committed to ensuring that all those found culpable are brought to justice in accordance with the law.
CP Nwadiogbu further appealed to residents of the state to remain calm, continue to cooperate with security agencies, and provide useful information that may assist in the investigation. According to him, “The Benue State Police Command remains resolute in its commitment to protecting lives and property while sustaining peace and security across the state.”
