The Coach of Lobi Stars FC of Makurdi, John Onuh (aka Abacha) has said he is positively minded that Lobi will win Doma United FC of Gombe, in the Match Day 9 tie of the 2025/26 NNL that will be decided tomorrow Saturday, at the McCarthy Stadium Makurdi, Benue State.
Coach Onuh disclosed this to the VoiceSports today, in Makurdi. He said, “I am positively minded that I will secure the 3 maximum points against Doma United FC after 90 minutes of regulation time. Although, I am not very certain of the number of goals that my boys will score but I am confident that by the grace of God, I will take the day”.
The former Kano Pillars FC midfield Dynamo who was full of praise for the management team of Lobi Stars FC led by Terver Ikya for motivating the players and for the zeal and enthusiasm and the determination of his wards, averred that, “when you have players that are ready to bring out their heart, play their best and most importantly, are well motivated by the management, you will be confident and very sure that they will do well considering the fact that we have really been working hard, training well and playing well too”.
“I want the players to understand that the draw which they pulled against the Sokoto United FC in Sokoto, was a different ball game and they should put it behind them and stop celebrating it rather, they should focus on the match against Doma United which is more important now and I expect that everybody will put all his heart into preparing very well, in order to go all out and ensure that at the end of the day, we will be basking in the euphoria with the 3 maximum points and make Benue people proud”.
The former Lobi Stars captain called on the teeming fans and supporters of the club to continue to support the club as they had been doing and to also rally round the Terver Ikya led management team, to succeed in their dream of taking the club to the promised land and to come all out in their numbers and cheer their darling team to victory against the visiting Gombe based NNL side on Saturday.
He said, “I know for sure that the kind of football that the fans will come to the stadium and watch on Saturday, will be what they don’t expect because they will definitely, watch what is beyond their expectations”.
Coach Najib Mabo of Doma United FC of Gombe in an interview with the VoiceSports, expressed optimism that Doma United FC will humble Lobi Stars FC on their soil in the Match Day 9 NNL match on Saturday, in Makurdi.
The Technical Adviser made his position known today, in Makurdi. He said, “I have come to Makurdi to win Lobi Stars on their soil because that is the ambition of every coach irrespective of where he is playing the match”.
The former Mighty Jets FC of Jos tactician who noted that being on the top of the log was not an easy task because you would want to continue winning in order to maintain the position to the end of the tussle, saying his prayer was to win the Alia Boys in Makurdi. He said, “what I require from the match officials is just a free and fair officiating. Therefore, I want my lads to remain focused and determined, to keep the ball and to attack even though it is not going to be an easy match”.
“For Lobi to have travelled to Sokoto by air and pulled a draw against the Sokoto United FC, I know it wasn’t an easy task and then coming back home to play after four years and also inviting people to come out in their large numbers and cheer the Makurdi based side up, it will also not be an easy match at all but I will take the day”
