The former Governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP ) in Nasarawa State, Dr David Ombugadu has resigned his membership of the party.
Ombugadu, who once served as a two-term member of the House of Representatives, announced his resignation in a letter to the chairman of the party in Ikka Wangibi ward of Nassarawa Eggon Local Government Area of the state.
The letter dated February 28, 2026, said the decision to resign from the party was due to lingering internal conflicts and leadership tussle.
He expressed sincere and unreserved gratitude to the party for according him the platform to serve his dear state and country, Nigeria.
Ombugadu began his political career with the defunct Congress for Progressive Change, where he was elected in 2011 to represent Akwanga/Nassarawa Eggon/Wamba Federal Constituency.
He defected to the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, and secured a second term.
The former House of Representatives member was a major contender against the incumbent Governor, Abdullahi Sule in the 2023 general elections.
