The only female legislator in the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Dr Hajarat Danyaro Ibrahim has distributed multi-million naira worth of food items, clothing, and a vehicle to her constituents in Nasarawa Central, Nasarawa Local Government Area( LGA) of Nasarawa State.

The grassroots empowerment, themed “Ramadan and Sallah Palliatives,” was held on Thursday at the LGA Secretariat.

The initiative, she said is aimed at alleviating economic pressures and providing succour to the community during the holy month of Ramadan and the upcoming Eid-el-Fitr celebrations.

This marked Dr. Danyaro’s tenth major intervention for her people since assuming office. It comprised of 700 bags of rice (7.5kg), 300 wrappers for women,170 high-quality clothing materials (Agbada, Buban Riga, and Sheda) for traditional and religious leaders.

Others included 20 bags of millet and a motor vehicle presented to one of the constituents among others.

Addressing the crowd, Dr Ibrahim emphasised that the gesture was born out of the genuine desire to improve the living standards of her people.

”I have been consistent in these efforts and, by God’s grace, I will continue to do so to improve the standard of living for my people.

“I want to assure you of my continued readiness to be your voice and to provide the much-needed dividends of democracy,” she said.

She further urged beneficiaries to utilise the items for their intended domestic purposes rather than selling them for quick cash.

Also speaking, the Federal Commissioner/CEO of the National Commission for Refugees, Migrants, and Internally Displaced Persons (NCFRMI), Aliyu Tijani Ahmed, passed a vote of confidence on the lawmaker and called for her re-election.

Hon Ahmed, supported the lawmaker’s gesture with a personal donation of N1 million towards the programme.

”Hon Hajarat has proven that she has the interests of her people at heart. This gesture will significantly improve the lives of the people before, during, and after the Ramadan period. I call on this constituency to continue supporting her to ensure she succeeds,” he added.

Speaking separately, the Zonal Chairman of the All Progressives Congress ( APC) in Nasarawa West, Mr Isaiah Agah and a religious Leader in the area, Chief Imam, Makama Dogo Mosque, praised the lawmaker’s alignment with party values and grassroots development.
