The senatorial aspiration of Engr. Agidani Oloche has gained significant momentum following his purchase of the nomination form to contest for the Benue South Senatorial District seat.
The development marks a major step in his bid to represent the people of Benue State “Zone C” at the National Assembly, reinforcing his commitment to providing purposeful leadership and effective representation.
Speaking shortly after the purchase on Wednesday, Engr. Agidani described the moment as a crucial milestone in his political journey and a demonstration of his resolve to actualize the aspirations of the people of Benue South.
He noted that his decision to join the race was informed by extensive consultations with APC members, stakeholders, youths, women, and community leaders across the district.
According to him, the district deserves responsive and people-oriented representation that will address key challenges, promote development, and attract meaningful federal presence to the area.
“I hereby assure my constituents of my dedication to inclusiveness, transparency, and accountability if given the mandate.
My vision is anchored on unity, security, and sustainable development.”
Political observers in the district view the purchase of the nomination form as a clear signal of his seriousness and readiness to contest, as the race for the Benue South Senatorial seat continues to gather momentum ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Supporters and members of his campaign organisation have also expressed optimism, describing him as a credible and capable candidate with the capacity to deliver dividends of democracy to the people of the district.
The Voice gathered that while declaring his intention to the people of Benue South to contest the race a few days earlier in Otukpo, Benue State, Engr. Oloche Agidani stated that the zone deserves effective representation capable of delivering tangible results.
He explained that his decision to run is driven by a strong desire to bring infrastructure and sustainable development to the district, which he noted has long suffered from significant infrastructural deficits.
He outlined his key priorities to include making the area economically productive, secure, stable, and well-connected.
He also emphasised plans to empower youths and women while ensuring strong and effective representation at the national level.
In his welcome address, the Zonal Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Benue South, Hon. Job Onum, noted that although there are many aspirants in the race, the zone requires a candidate with strong grassroots support to secure victory for the party.
Delivering goodwill messages on behalf of Ado, Okpokwu, and Ogbadibo Federal Constituency, Hon. Fab Agada stated that while multiple aspirants have shown interest, the party’s decision remains supreme. He assured that whoever emerges as the party’s candidate would receive their full support. Speaking for Apa/Agatu, Barr. Omale Omale appealed to other constituencies to concede the senatorial slot to their area this time.
He urged stakeholders to support their candidate, whom he described as competent and well-qualified to deliver democratic dividends.
Also speaking, Chief Godwin Ukpoju, representing Otukpo/Ohimini, said it would be fair for Apa/Agatu to be considered, noting that like Obi and Oju, they are yet to produce a senator for the zone.
In his remarks on behalf of Obi and Oju, Hon. Edoh Egboja called for alignment with Apa/Agatu, expressing confidence that such cooperation would foster fairness and future opportunities for other constituencies. “Our support is based on shared developmental challenges rather than sentiment,” he stated.
