Senator Ahmed Wadada (Nasarawa West) has won the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship primary in Nasarawa State, ahead of the 2027 election.
Announcing the results on Friday in Lafia, the election committee Chairman, Prof. Theodore Maiyaki confirmed that Wadada secured 195,285 votes across the 13 Local Government Areas of the State defeating six other contestants.
The breakdown of the votes for the other aspirants show: Mohammed Adamu (Former IGP): 39,675 votes
Prof. Mohamed Sani-Haruna: 5,844 votes
Dr. Hassan Liman (SAN): 863 votes
Dr. Zakka Yakubu: 336 votes
Dr. Fatima Abdullahi-Adamu: 246 votes
Tanimu Adabson: 65 votes.
Maiyaki explained that the election was transparent and closely monitored, officially declaring Wadada the elected APC candidate after meeting all constitutional requirements.
