Taraba launches one-stop desk to drive solid minerals investment

The Taraba State Government has inaugurated the Taraba Solid Minerals Investment Facilitation Desk aimed at attracting investors and establishing the state as a key mining hub in Nigeria.

The Desk was unveiled on Saturday at the maiden Taraba State Solid Minerals Investment Roundtable held at the Banquet Hall, TY Danjuma House, Jalingo.

Governor Agbu Kefas said the initiative was designed to streamline investment processes by bringing together investors, government agencies, and host communities under a single platform.

He stated that the Desk will provide services including geological data, land access, business support, security coordination, infrastructure linkage, and community engagement to eliminate bureaucratic hurdles for investors.

With backing from the Federal Government, Kefas said Taraba is poised to transform its mineral resources into viable investments that will generate employment and sustainable revenue.

He reassured investors of the state’s commitment to security and ease of doing business, adding that relevant MDAs have been directed to collaborate with the Desk to expedite approvals and compliance.

“I have directed all relevant MDAs to establish the Taraba Solid Minerals Investment Facilitation Desk as a one-stop platform to coordinate investors, government agencies, and host communities. Our goal is clear: mining must deliver real benefits to host communities, jobs for our youth, and lasting revenue for Tarabans,” he said.

The Special Guest, Minister of Solid Minerals Development, Dr. Dele Alake, urged investors to explore opportunities in Taraba and partner with the state government.

He reaffirmed the Federal Government’s commitment to supporting states with clear policies and investment frameworks to grow the solid minerals sector.

He described President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as one of the fairest democrats among Nigerian politicians, committed to driving Nigeria’s economic and social development. He urged Nigerians to support Tinubu’s bid for a second term to ensure greater prosperity for the country.
