Benue deputy governor mourns ex-Benue SSG, Salifu

Benue State Deputy Governor, Dr. Sam Ode,  has expressed deep sorrow over the death of Professor David Salifu, a distinguished administrator, scholar, and former Secretary to the Benue State Government, SSG.

In a condolence message issued on Saturday through his Chief Press Secretary, Ior Ikyereve,  Dr. Ode described the passing of Prof. Salifu as “a profound loss to his family, Benue State, and the nation at large.” 

The Deputy Governor extended heartfelt sympathies to the immediate family of the late statesman, noting that Prof. Salifu served Benue with remarkable dedication, integrity, and a commitment to excellence. 

“Throughout his distinguished career in public service and academia, the late Professor Salifu exemplified exceptional leadership, wisdom, and patriotism,” Dr. Ode said. “He leaves behind a legacy of selfless service that will continue to inspire generations of Benue people.” 

Dr. Ode further stated that “Professor Salifu’s immense contributions to governance, education, and human capital development earned him widespread respect and admiration.” According to him, the death of the former SSG has created a vacuum that will be deeply felt across Benue State and beyond. 

The Deputy Governor prayed to God to grant the bereaved family strength, comfort, and fortitude to bear the painful loss. He urged them to take solace in the exemplary life, enduring values, and lasting legacy of the deceased. Dr. Ode also prayed for the peaceful repose of the soul of Professor David Salifu. 

Tributes have continued to pour in from government officials, academia, and political stakeholders across the state following news of his passing.
