The General Superintendent of the Deeper Christian Life Ministry, Pastor William Kumuyi, is in Otukpo, Benue State, for a four-day gospel crusade.
Welcoming the cleric and his wife, Pastor Esther Kumuyi, to Otukpo, the ancestral headquarters of the Idoma Kingdom, on Friday, the Paramount Ruler of the Idoma nation, Dr. John Odogbo Elaigwu, said he was delighted to have them in his kingdom.
The Och’Idoma described the visit of the Deeper Life preacher as “one of the greatest things to have happened to his kingdom” since he ascended the throne.
He revealed that before his ascension, he was a Pastor with the Deeper Christian Life Ministry, and pledged to remain in that faith “until eternity.”
Agaba’Idu Elaigwu expressed hope that with the coming of the man of God, his kingdom would be free from all afflictions.
“I am very happy to have you, Daddy Pastor Dr. Kumuyi, and our Mother, Mummy Esther Kumuyi, as my guests. You are my mentors. Before I became the Och’Idoma, I was a Pastor with the Deeper Christian Life Ministry, and I remain a preacher to this day. I will continue in that tradition throughout my lifetime. Today, there is a Chapel in my palace where I preach and conduct other church activities.
“This visit is one of the greatest things to have happened to Idoma land under my watch, and I believe that at the end of this crusade, the land will overcome all its challenges and my people will be totally free from all their afflictions. Daddy, we appeal to you and the Church to continue to remember the Idoma Kingdom in prayers even after this programme,” he said.
Responding, Pastor Kumuyi said he was in Idoma land as part of his drive to take the Gospel of Christ to every corner of the world. He noted that the “Global Crusade with Kumuyi” [GCK] had earlier been held in Gboko, Benue State.
The crusade is themed “Glorious Freedom Through Christ” and, according to Kumuyi, aims to liberate the people from sin, bondage, and condemnation through Jesus Christ.
Pastor Kumuyi stated that the crusade, which runs from July 3 to 6, 2026, features different programme packages, including:
All Believers & Ministers Conference: “Renewed in His Image for Exploits,” MPACT Academy for Youth: “Unbreakable Breakthrough.”
He stated that these programmes will hold at the Och’Idoma Square in the mornings, while the main crusade will take place at the new Deeper Life Conference Centre, GRA, Otukpo.
“We urge the people to expect miracles through the teaching and preaching of the gospel. After this crusade, Idoma land will not be the same again,” he declared.
Also speaking, the Senator representing Benue South and Senate Minority Leader, Senator Abba Moro, expressed joy at Pastor Kumuyi’s visit, describing it as “apt.”
He said he was optimistic that the land would be healed of all challenges after the crusade, and urged his constituents to submit themselves to God for a turnaround.
“I am very excited, and so are my constituents, going by their huge turnout. With this crusade, I know all the challenges of the Idoma community will be overcome. In times of despair such as this, all we have to do is to cast our problems on God for permanent solutions. And I would advise the people to do that. In times of sorrow, turn to God,” the Senator stated.
The Voice reports that the high point of the reception was the decoration of Pastor Kumuyi and his wife, Esther, in traditional attire, and the presentation of a golden key by the Och’Idoma, which the Paramount Ruler said would be used by the preacher to unlock the potentials of Idoma land.
