BREAKING: Hon. Ipusu emerges Benue Assembly Majority Leader

Hon. Peter Ipusu of Katsina-Ala West Constituency has emerged Majority Leader of the Benue State House of Assembly following the resignation of the former occupant of the office. This was announced during Tuesday’s plenary session presided over by the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Alfred Emberga.

The change in leadership followed the resignation of the former Majority Leader, Hon. Thomas Dugeri. In a letter read on the floor by the Speaker, Hon. Emberga, Dugeri cited his defection from the All Progressives Congress (APC) to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as the reason for stepping down from the position.

Following the resignation, the Speaker also read a letter from the Benue State chapter of the APC. The letter, signed by the State Chairman, Hon. Benjamin Omale, nominated Hon. Ipusu for the position of Majority Leader.

The House subsequently adopted the nomination, paving the way for Hon. Ipusu to assume the role of Majority Leader with immediate effect.

Hon. Ipusu’s emergence is expected to provide new leadership for the majority caucus as the Assembly continues with legislative business.
