NDC Senatorial candidate raises hope for Yandev- Ugbema road

If all things end as planned, the prolonged neglect of the deplorable Yandev- Ugbema road in Benue State will be over as soon as the National Assembly is proclaimed in 2027.

This is with the hope that the people of Benue North East Senatorial District will bestow their mandate on the candidate of the NDC, Dr Martin Iorsamber to represent them at the red Chambers.

Dr Iorsamber has vowed that the road is his covenant with the people and therefore, the top priority of projects he will be executing if voted into office in 2027.

The Senatorial candidate who said he is deeply touched by personal experience, of the near impassable State of the road, told The Voice Politics that he has plans to sponsor a bill to upgrade the road to an international route.

Dr Iorsamber who also sent pictures of the deplorable road he personally took said, “this road is the Yandev – Ugbema road. This is the road that links many parts of Benue North East senatorial district known as zone A. “On this faithful day commuters were stuck and couldn’t use this road. Imagine how people will loose appointments, businesses that were delayed and all that.

“My covenant with the people of ZoneA is to take this road as a top priority. My proposal is that, an international road should be constructed from Gboko through Jato- Atō to the borders with Cameroon. This international road will enhance commerce, boost economic activities and enhance security coordination.

“I am determined to lobby the federal government through relevant ministries and agencies as well as the presidency to ensure that our zone receives good attention.

“My 5 point agenda is a deliberate attempt to connect our rural areas to modern realities of development”, he stated.

He, therefore, encouraged all people of good will to support his candidature to victory in the forthcoming elections and warned, “Let us not waste our chances again. We have done enough of that in the past and time to be deliberate about development must be now”.
