A House of Representatives aspirant for Jalingo/Yorro/Zing Federal Constituency, Hon. Ibrahim Adamu Imam, has promised better and people-oriented representation if elected in the 2027 general elections.
Hon. Imam, a former member representing Jalingo I Constituency in the Taraba State House of Assembly, made the promise on Saturday while addressing journalists at his residence in Jalingo, shortly after returning from Yorro where he inaugurated his campaign office.
The former lawmaker decried what he described as poor representation of the constituency in the National Assembly, citing lack of infrastructure, human capital development and failure to carry constituents along in the scheme of things. He said the current situation calls for liberation and a change of narrative in 2027.
Recalling his stewardship in the State Assembly, Imam said he executed tangible projects that have remained lasting legacies in his constituency, including the construction of two health clinics for the people of Jalingo I, establishment of a computer training centre, and award of scholarships to indigent students.
“If elected to the House of Representatives, I will leverage my experience and lobby my colleagues to bring dividends of democracy to my people in no distant time,” he said.
Imam, who also served as Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development in the state, said his focus, if elected to the Green Chamber, would be on youth empowerment, women development and infrastructural renewal.
Responding to questions from journalists, he described the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Senator Emmanuel Bwacha, as a grassroots politician with a towering profile who understands the needs of Tarabans and has the capacity to address them.
He called on the people of Taraba State to vote wisely and support credible candidates of the PDP from bottom to top in the 2027 general elections.
