Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State has called on the people to remain united in prayers for the peaceful transition of his administration as Muslim Ummah celebrates the 2026 Eid-el-Fitr (Sallah).
In a sallah message issued on Thursday, Governor Sule advised that the end of the 30-day fast should not signal an end to the spiritual discipline and acts of kindness practiced during the sacred month but rather build up to the virtues of peace and unity among citizens of the state.
The Governor noted that the period of fasting was a vital opportunity for spiritual growth, discipline, and empathy and urged the faithful to carry these lessons into their everyday lives to foster a better society.
”We must remain steadfast in sustaining the good deeds which we imbibed during Ramadan by applying the virtues in all of our endeavours.
“The acts of supplication, hospitality, and good neighbourliness practiced during Ramadan are expected to be sustained for the good of all,” he said.
Speaking on the state’s current political landscape, Governor Sule acknowledged that his administration was currently in a transition phase and called on the people to be intentional about seeking divine intervention for the stability of the state and the country.
”My dear brethren, as you are aware, this administration is on transition,” Sule remarked. “Accordingly, we have a responsibility to commit our State and the nation into prayers in order to have a peaceful and seamless process,” he added.
He further urged citizens to pray for leaders at all levels, emphasising that governance requires the “fear of God and the virtues of justice, humility, and service.”
Governor Sule reaffirmed his commitment to making Nasarawa an inclusive home for all Nigerians, regardless of their religious or ethnic backgrounds, describing the State as a “miniature society” that prides itself on its hospitality.
In light of the festive celebrations, the Governor issued a call for vigilance and adherence to safety protocols noting specifically potentials for increased traffic during the period, calling on both citizens and law enforcement to ensure order.
The Governor appealed for strict obedience to traffic regulations to prevent accidents.
He called on the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) and other security outfits to “intensify enforcement of the laws during this festive season and beyond.”
Governor Sule wished all residents a “hitch-free” celebration, anchored on the hope for continued socio-cultural and economic prosperity for Nasarawa State.
