Benue State Governor, Rev Fr Hyacinth Alia has flagged off the E-Registration exercise for all members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) across the State.
Performing the ceremony on Monday at RCM Primary School, Ihugh in Mbadede Council Ward of Vandeikya Local Government Area, Governor Alia called on all members of APC to go back to their wards and have themselves registered as members of the party.
The Governor directed all Local Government and Ward Chairmen of the APC to mobilize members at their various domains to fully participate in the exercise announcing that the local Government with the highest number of registered members of APC would be given an award.
He described the exercise as the first of its kind among the political parties in Nigeria and thanked the people of Benue especially the Vandeikya people for their love and support for him and for embracing the APC as a party.
Speaking during the ceremony State Chairman of the APC Dr. Benjamin Omale commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as well as the National Chairman of the APC for the initiative and expressed appreciation to Governor Alia for sponsoring the exercise in Benue State.
He further enjoined all APC faithful in Benue to embrace the E-Registration to enable them become fully registered members of APC.
Member representing Katsina-Ala, Ukum and Logo Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives, Hon. solomon Wombo acknowledged the developmental strides of Governor Alia saying the people of Benue North-East Senatorial District were behind him to enable him steer the affairs of the state beyond 2027
Also speaking, Chairman Vandeikya local Government Council, Mr Dennis Guda said he was ready to support the exercise in his local Government to be successful and thanked all those who attended the ceremony even as he prayed to God to grant them journey mercies to their various destinations.
State Coordinator of the APC E-Registration Exercise and State Organizing Secretary of the APC in Benue State, Mr James Ornguga said the process was very simple provided a candidate has a voter registration card and National Identity card adding that already, people have been trained to conduct the registration across all the headquarters of council wards across the state.
Governor Alia was the first person to be registered as the member of APC in Benue State with the registration number Zero One (01).
