Six supporters of the former Inspector General of Police and SDP Governor ship Candidate, Mohammed Adamu have died in an auto crash near the Lafia Flyover in Nasarawa State.
The victims were traveling to a campaign event in Awe Local Government Area when the accident occurred. Many others sustained varying degrees of injuries.
Otaru Douglas, the Media Spokesperson of the Adamu campaign, confirmed the deaths and said the injured were hospitalised.
He stated that the former IGP and his wife are currently supporting the affected families.
“The best I can say is for God to repose the souls of those who died and grant quick recovery to those who sustained varying degrees of injuries,” he stated.
“The IGP and his wife are fully with the families of the deceased. We are praying that the passage of their children or their loved ones will mark the beginning of peace and progress in their lives,” he stated.
The Nasarawa State Government and the local chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC), expressed condolences to the families and the campaign team.
Also, the State Commissioner for Information, Dr. Nawani Aboki expressed deep sympathies to the victims on behalf of the State government.
Similarly , the APC State Publicity Secretary, Augustine Ogaba in astatement prayed for the bereaved and wished the injured a swift recovery.
“The APC, Nasarawa State Chapter extends its heartfelt condolences to the families of the deceased, the leadership and supporters of the group, and all those affected by this tragic incident,” the statement read.
“At this difficult moment, our thoughts and prayers are with the bereaved families and all those affected by this tragedy. We pray that Almighty God grant the departed eternal rest and give their loved ones the strength and fortitude to bear this irreparable loss,” he said.
