Residents of Otukpo town in Benue State have commended an Abuja-based businessman and Chief Executive Officer of JRB Solar Investment Ltd, Alhaji Jimoh Badamosi, for his charitable works, especially the construction of roads in the metropolis.
Speaking with The Voice in Otukpo on Saturday, the Second-Class Chief of Otukpo and Chairman of Otukpo Local Government Traditional Council, Chief Dr. Samuel Onuh, said Jimoh’s antecedents are worthy of emulation, having embarked on the development of Otukpo town.
“This young man had earlier installed streetlights, constructed a road, and empowered many residents. He has again demonstrated another spirit of philanthropy by embarking on the massive construction of streets in the metropolis. What surprises me most is that the man is not an Idoma man, neither is he living in Otukpo, yet he is doing all these. He has the spirit of a patriotic Nigerian who sees all places in the country as his home and constituency. If all were like him, Nigeria would be a better place to live in, and I urge my subjects to emulate him. I, on behalf of my council members and subjects, hereby express my profound appreciation to the iconic businessman and pray that God rewards him abundantly,” said the Otukpo monarch.
In his reaction, the leader of the Yoruba Community in Idomaland and Chairman of the All Muslim Community Leadership Forum, Benue South, Ambassador Dr. Umar Ajape, called on other members of the community to emulate the good works of Alhaji Jimoh Gbadamosi, saying, “If every man loves his neighbor and contributes his quota to society’s growth, the world would be a better place for all.”
He added, “The only way we can make this world a better place to live in is for every man to love his neighbor and contribute his quota to society’s growth. No matter where you come from, no matter your tribe or religion, assist the people around you and contribute to the development of their area. Your good works should not only be directed to your own blood brothers and place of origin alone. Do good to all men and to all nations. Jimoh, you are a gift to humanity from God, and may He give you long life to serve society. Your recent empowerment of ten families with ten million naira each remains etched in our memories,” Dr. Ajape opined.
Another Yoruba leader, Alhaji Ismaila Ibrahim, said the Yoruba in Idomaland are proud of Alhaji Jimoh’s developmental strides. He recalled that before the current road constructions, the philanthropist had been touching lives at the individual level. “He has given motorcycles and cars to individuals and even cash to boost their economic lifeline,” he stated.
Ibrahim thanked Jimoh for his love for charity and called on the people to support him with prayers to enable him to do more for humanity. He further maintained that, from his observation, the business mogul has a date with Otukpo, stressing that he may do in Otukpo more than what he has done in Igboeze South Local Government of Enugu State, where he has changed the landscape through massive constructions.
A resident, Chief Icha Adole, simply described what the CEO of JRB Solar Investment Ltd is doing in the town as “marvellous.” He said, “This is how charity work is done. This man is not a Benue citizen nor a politician who will come back to ask for our votes. The only link he has with us here is that his aunt lives in the town. We need to borrow a leaf from him by developing society irrespective of tribe or religion.” The elder statesman appreciated the donor for his good works and urged Idoma sons and daughters to take up the challenge of developing their community.
Also speaking, another resident and Hausa Community leader in Otukpo, Alhaji Amodu Umoru, hailed the philanthropist for addressing the infrastructural deficit of the metropolis. He noted that people like Jimoh are rare in society and urged him to continue his good works, stressing that his rewards are in heaven. He added that the donor is complementing the developmental efforts of the state government and called on other citizens to contribute their quotas, as government cannot do it all alone. “When the history of Otukpo is written, Jimoh will have a page,” he said.
Others who spoke, including Samuel Egwurube, Ene Ogwuche, and Francis Ibe, thanked and commended the businessman for his philanthropic work and urged others to emulate him.
Recall that Alhaji Jimoh Gbadamosi, an Abuja-based businessman of Yoruba descent, who had earlier constructed and electrified some streets in Otukpo town, has once again demonstrated his love for the people by embarking on the construction of more streets in the area.
