The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, has lauded the developmental policies of President Bola Tinubu and Governor Abdullahi Sule, describing Nasarawa State as a shining example of good governance.
Professor Yilwatda gave the commendation on Thursday in Lafia during a solidarity rally held on Thursday to appreciate President Tinubu and Governor Sule for their developmental policies.
He expressed pride in leading a party with a strong leader in President Tinubu and governors who, he said are emulating his example.
The APC Chairman commended governor Sule’s efforts in transforming the state, citing the construction of roads, an airport, technical schools, and vocational centers.
“I have seen the roads, and they are clearly showing that there is progress in the state. I have also seen the airport, which was completed under the current administration. Congratulations, Your Excellency,” he said.
Yilwatda also lauded the governor’s inclusive governance, noting that appointments reflect religious and tribal diversity.
“I can see the mix in your appointments. Clearly, there is no religious bias. You provided tribal inclusion.The beauty of the rainbow is when you have multiple colors, and that is the beauty of seeing in Nasarawa State.”
“Today, I am proud that I am leading the biggest worker party in Nigeria, in Africa, and in the entire black world,” he said.
Yilwatda urged the governor to continue his good work, saying, “We know the work has not been completed, but we have seen progress. We have seen light, and we are sure, Your Excellency, that Nasarawa is a shining example of how governance should be in a state.”
While receiving thousands of decampees from other political parties into APC including a sitting Senator representing Nation West, Senatorial District, Senate Aliyu Wadada, the Chairman charged them to be loyal to the party and assured them of equal opportunities.
In his remarks, Governor Abdullahi Sule expressed gratitude to President Bola Tinubu for his reforms, which he said have enabled his administration to undertake massive development projects in the state.
“This is a confirmation that indeed, what I have been telling you, that the massive changes you have seen in Nasarawa State that you never even dreamt of are happening because of the reform carried out by Mr. President,” Sule said.
The governor highlighted the state’s achievements, including increased funding and development projects, and urged citizens to take advantage of programs such as the National Education Loan Fund, which allows students to access education without upfront payment.
“Through the NEL Fund, you can actually get the resources that you can sponsor your children in school, and the good news is that they don’t even have to pay until they are able to get a job after graduation,” he said.
Sule also announced the defection of several politicians to the APC, including a sitting senator and former senator, and urged citizens to support his administration’s efforts to develop the state.
The Voice reports that, some of the decompees who defeated to APC included; Senator Aliyu Wadada ( Social Democratic Party, SDP) sitting senator representing Nasarawa West Senatorial District, Senator Philip Gyunka ( former Senator of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP) and deputy Speaker of Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Hon Mohammed Ayanki.
Others were; Hon Musa Ibrahim ( SDP) , representing Doma South Constituency, Former PRO of PDP. Hon Aliyu Akwe Doma, Chairman of New Nigeria People’s Party( NNPP), Hon Sidi Bako, among others.
