The All Progressives Congress, APC, in Taraba State has commissioned its new state secretariat in Jalingo, describing the facility as a boost for party administration and grassroots mobilization ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Speaking at the event on Friday, the State Chairman of the APC said the party was pleased to be associated with a leadership that has delivered impactful and result-oriented governance in the state.
The chairman noted the special working relationship between the Federal Government, the Taraba State Government under Governor Dr. Agbu Kefas, and the APC. According to him, the partnership has facilitated ongoing mega medical and surgical outreaches across the three senatorial zones of the state.
The party also expressed appreciation for the inclusion of Taraba State in federal road infrastructure programmes, particularly the construction of two major bridges across River Benue at Ibi and Lau.
The chairman further commended what was described as a dynamic and inclusive shift in party leadership at the national level, which aligns with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Ahmed Bola Tinubu.
In a bid to strengthen internal cohesion, the State APC Chairman announced the constitution of a reconciliation committee. The committee comprises three chairmen, one from each senatorial zone: Barr. Ibrahim Elsidi, Esq. for the Central Zone, Dr. Phillip Duwe for the Southern Zone, and Alhaji Sani Danladi for the Northern Zone.
The State Publicity Secretary, Mr. Aaron Arthmas, said the decision to set up the committee was taken to reconcile with aggrieved members following the party primaries and to unite members ahead of the general elections. He stated that the goal is to secure a resounding victory for the party at both state and national levels.
The publicity secretary added that the APC in Taraba prioritizes dialogue and reconciliation over punitive measures, unlike practices in some other parties where members who seek legal redress are sanctioned. He stressed the need to reintegrate aggrieved members rather than expel them, even in cases where actions were taken outside the party constitution.
He called on all affected members to set aside differences and work with the party leadership to build a united and stronger APC in Taraba State.
The commissioning of the secretariat and the inauguration of the reconciliation committee were attended by party stakeholders from across the state.
