Road crash: Benue Deputy Governor sympathises with victims

The Deputy Governor of Benue State, Dr. Sam Ode,  has expressed profound sorrow over a tragic road accident that occurred on Wednesday along the Makurdi-Lafia road. The crash involved members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) who were traveling to Lafia, Nasarawa State, for the North-Central Zonal Convention of the party.

In a statement issued by Ior Ikyereve, Deputy Chief Press Secretary, Office of the Deputy Governor, on Thursday, Dr. Ode described the incident as “heartbreaking”, noting that the victims were dedicated party members en route to a crucial party event.

 “I extend my heartfelt condolences to the victims, their families, the leadership and members of the APC in Ogbadibo Local Government Area and all those affected by the tragic incident,” he stated.

He also commiserated with those injured in the accident, wishing them a speedy recovery. Dr. Ode urged road users to exercise caution and adhere to traffic regulations, particularly during long-distance travels.

The Deputy Governor assured that the Government of Benue State stands in solidarity with them, their families and all party members at this difficult time.
