The Deputy Governor of Benue State, Dr. Sam Ode, has expressed profound shock and deep sorrow over the death of the Head of Service, HOS, Dr. Moses Agbogbo Ode, who passed away in the early hours of Saturday, May 2, 2026, after a brief illness.
In a condolence message issued through his Chief Press Secretary, Ior Ikyereve Saturday, the deputy governor described the late Head of Service as “a distinguished public servant, an astute administrator, and a man of proven integrity whose commitment to duty and service to the state was exemplary.”
Barr. Ode said Dr. Ode’s invaluable contributions to the growth and efficiency of the Benue State Civil Service would remain indelible in the annals of the state. He noted that the sudden death is a monumental loss not only to the government and people of Benue State but also to the entire public service community, where the deceased served with diligence, humility, and remarkable professionalism.
“His passing has created a huge vacuum that will be difficult to fill,” the deputy governor stated.
While mourning what he termed a painful loss, Dr. Ode extended heartfelt condolences to the immediate family of the deceased, the Benue State Government, and the entire civil service.
He prayed for God Almighty to grant the soul of the departed eternal rest and give all those affected the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
