Benue State Commissioner for Education and Knowledge Management, Hon. Dr. Margaret Adamu Ijaguwa, on Wednesday inspected the Permanent site of the ultra Modern Office Complex of the Benue Education Quality Assurance and Examinations Board and expressed satisfaction over the progress of work.

Head of information, Ministry of Education and Knowledge Management , the commissioner, who was accompanied on the tour by the Permanent Secretary, Secondary and tertiary Education, Mrs Helen Nambativ alongside the Executive Secretary, Benue Education Quality Assurance and Examinations Board, Mr Terna Francis and Directors in the ministry expressed satisfaction that the newly office complex will be commissioned soon going by the speedy progress of work.
The commissioner, who expressed appreciation to Governor Hyacinth Alia for on-going reforms initiated in the Education sector acknowledged that, Education remains the fundamental right and powerful tool that drives economic growth and foster social progress. She commended the achievements recorded, describing it as a welcome development that has restored confidence in the Education System.
According to the commissioner, the 9-3-4 system of Education has replaced the first school leaving certificate hitherto issued at the end of primary six.
She appraised the modern Security feature embedded in the certificates and commended the progress initiated by the BEQAEB.
Earlier, the Executive Secretary, Benue Education Quality Assurance and Examinations Board, Mr Terna Francis, while presenting the certificates to the commissioner, explained that the state over the years experience setback in the issuance of certificates, lamenting that candidates who sat for the Examination from 2017 onward had been without certificates.
He started that with the efforts of his management team, in collaboration with technical partners have now resulted in the production of the 2024 and 2025 certificates, which are now ready for issuance.
He disclosed that the certificates now contain enhanced security features including QR codes linked to the certificates verification portal, enabling instant authentication of certificates through mobile devices.
