Wikki will crack down 3SC or share points– Coach Ogenyi

“My plan is to see how we can garner the three points against 3SC and if we can’t do it, we will share the points with them under their nose”. The Technical Adviser of Wikki Tourists FC of Bauchi, Evans Ogenyi hinted in a telephone discourse with The VoiceSports last Saturday, ahead of the Match Week 30 cracker against the 3SC FC of Ibadan on Sunday, in the 2025/26 NPFL season at the Adamasigba Stadium, Ibadan. He said, “I build on the philosophy, if you cannot get to the sun, then land on the moon”.

Coach Ogenyi stated that his predicament was having about ninety percent of the players in the team who are Muslims that were also fasting, although, he wouldn’t blame the imbalance in the recruitment of players on the management, but if he would continue with the team next season, it would be balanced. He said, “for now, I will make do with what I have and see that we don’t lose. That is what I’ve been inculcating the players with but for football being what it is, we will see how it goes”.

The former Bayelsa United FC gaffer while citing an instance when in his sojourn with Kano Pillars FC during which he returned the club to the Premiership, believed that every top coach would want to excel and with all things being equal, Wikki Tourists should also avoid a drop when he was at the helm of the technical affairs.

He disclosed that, “my aim is to see that Wikki Tourists escape relegation and maintain its Premiership status. When that is done, the aim for which I was recruited in the team will be achieved. “I joined the Bauchi based side on a rescue mission recently, with ten to eleven matches to the end of this League season, I had two training sessions with the players, went with them for a match against the El Kanemi Warriors and also crushed them 2-1 in Jos and by the grace of God, Wikki Tourists will not go down.
